Oh, don't you love it when you start a new job and no one spares you any thought or helps you figure things out?

I know, it's the best!

It's so fun to be thrown in at the deep end, to have no one to train you or explain how the job must be done. This way, you can work three times as hard just to figure out the basics, and spend so much time discovering things alone, when they could have been explained to you in just a few sentences. Who doesn't love the struggle?

And the best part of all is when you get blamed for doing things the wrong way, even though no one bothered to explain the right way. That is simply the most rewarding part of starting a new job.

When the new hire in the story below was told that they were doing things wrong, even though they had no help, they knew they were in for a treat. Luckily, they were not afraid of some malicious compliance to stand up to their micromanager.
